Walking in, I felt right at home. The futons were wicked comfy, and the shared kitchen was perfect for making breakfast with other travelers. Staff were super chill and helpful, offering the best local food spots. Only downside was the bathroom—definitely showing its age. Seems like it could use a little love—

Comfortable beds, tatami mat floor, and a spacious seating area helped create a cozy atmosphere. On-site laundry availability made tackling our two-week trip much easier.

The room had a severe smell reminiscent of public restrooms, which persisted despite attempts to air it out. WiFi connection struggled, dropping out frequently, and the absence of room service limited quick refreshment options. Guests must drop off used towels during specific hours, which can be inconvenient for those exploring during the day.

I truly appreciated the warm atmosphere at Rickshaw Inn, with friendly staff offering excellent local dining recommendations. The tatami room was surprisingly spacious and comfortable, providing a cozy haven after a day of exploring Takayama's charming attractions.

The location is fantastic, just a short ten-minute walk from the train station. I loved staying in the Japanese Style Twin Room. The tatami mats felt comfy, and the bedding included a real mattress on a tatami mat, which was surprisingly cozy. The shared kitchen was a great feature. I could prepare breakfast and enjoy coffee with fellow travelers in the comfortable sitting area. The decor had a charming traditional vibe. However, the pillows were a bit flat, and only one per guest was provided, although we were able to get an extra pillow for no charge, which was a relief. The air conditioning couldn't be adjusted, but we managed fine with the heater. I noticed a bit of noise from the street at night, yet it wasn't too disruptive. The staff were warm and friendly, always ready to help. Overall, I had a delightful time here despite minor inconveniences.

Everyone was lovely and the rooms cozy! The kitchen space was perfect for breakfast prep. The laundry facility was super convenient, and the staff provided excellent assistance with local tours.

A bit more light blocking on the windows would help for a deeper sleep experience.

During our two-night stay, we were genuinely impressed by the cozy atmosphere, especially in our room where the futons felt so comfortable. However, the shared bathroom was a bit older than expected, which we didn’t mind too much but could be improved. I would definitely choose this place again!

I enjoyed my stay and found the staff very helpful, even providing tips on local attractions and dining spots. The communal lounge had a cozy atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The room provided ample space and comfort, making it easy to relax. I also appreciated that I could prepare my breakfast in the shared kitchen, allowing me to start my day right and meet fellow guests in the process.

It was just an optimal selection for a fleeting trip in Takayama with excellent value for money. The large family room allowed us to have some privacy while enjoying a cozy atmosphere together. Make use of the shared kitchen to save on meals while chatting with other travelers.

The beautiful traditional style and spacious family room were perfect for our little ones. We enjoyed nearby attractions, and the kids especially loved exploring local markets. The staff spoke English and were very accommodating, making our stay enjoyable.

My children wanted an outdoor play area for some fresh air.
